The Cambo Actar-90’s Replacement, Schneider Pyrite 90mm f/4.5 Lens
The Cambo Actar-90 lens has always been a popular choice among owners of the Actus view camera. Its commonly appreciated by still life and food photographers for its generous image circle, convenient focal length and good value-for-money. Unfortunately, Cambo can no longer source the lens cells which forces them to discontinue it. Thankfully, there is a worthy replacement, the Schneider Pyrite 90mm f/4.5 Lens.
This lens is not only for use with the Actus, but also for the Fujifilm GFX and Hasselblad X2D helical focusing mounts and the Cambo RBC repro cameras. This is like reintroducing an old acquaintance. For many years Schneider offered their Apo-Digitar 90mm f/4.5 in the standard mount for view camera use, the nr. 0. When Schneider changed the name to Pyrite – their line of Industrial lenses – they also changed the mount. We’re now offering those 38mm V-Groove lens boards for our various applications.
The Pyrite 90mm shines in the 1:1.5 – ∞ range. For macro work and the digitization of 35mm film you may have a look at the extensive line of lenses we offer for reproduction and archival applications.
