Capture One 16.8.3

I was sitting down when I heard the news and I immediately sprung out of my chair and did the happy dance! I literally could not contain myself. After all these long years could it be? Can I finally marry the world’s hottest digital camera with at the world’s strongest raw processing software? Will I no longer be forced into using an outdated and stagnant Phocus platform? Have they been listening to me and the hundreds of thousands of Hasselblad users around the world? I checked my status of Capture One this morning and there it was!! An upgrade was available! Capture One 16.8.3. It’s live now!!

A big first step!

And yes, you probably already guessed from my title, this is raw processing and not tethering today. However, sources are saying full tethering compatibly should be available by the end of 2026. So I will wholeheartedly take this for the huge news that it is and be happy today. Here are the Capture One release notes from this morning for camera compatibility.

Hasselblad X2D 100C:
– Version Added: 16.8.3
– File Support: 3FR
– Tethered/Live View/Wireless: No/No/No

Hasselblad X2DII 100C:
– Version Added: 16.8.3
– File Support: 3FR
– Tethered/Live View/Wireless: No/No/No

Hasselblad CFV 100C:
– Version Added: 16.8.3
– File Support: 3FR
– Tethered/Live View/Wireless: No/No/No

So what does this tell us?

  • 3FR support but not FFF
  • No support for 50mp sensors
  • What am I missing?

I can confirm my raws look great

What about lens support and corrections?

That was the logical next question so lets check:

Yes the entire line up of the current Hasselblad Lens offering! Even discontinued XCD Lenses!
