The New Leica M EV1 Camera
Coming Soon: U.S. availability of the Leica M EV1 will be temporarily postponed pending completion of the FCC listing and publication process – a routine regulatory requirement. Until such time this device is not, and may not be, offered for sale or lease, or sold or leased in the United States. This device cannot be delivered to end users, be displayed, or operated in the United States until the device receives certification from the FCC. Leica USA will share an update once the new U.S. release timeline and rescheduled in-store event dates are confirmed. The product will launch as scheduled in all other regions.
The First M with Integrated EVF
The Leica M line embodies timeless aesthetics and true photographic authenticity, paired with uncompromising craftsmanship and exceptional image quality. The Leica M EV1 honors this legacy while expanding its horizons.
Masterpieces Crafted by Hand
The Leica M EV1 expands the horizons of M photography. Whether you’re photographing close-up subjects or sweeping vistas, the EVF renders every perspective in brilliant clarity and streamlines the use of every M-Lens since 1954. Unlike a traditional rangefinder, the integrated EVF consistently displays the lens’s full field of view – from wide angle to telephoto. This enables you to see every detail precisely as it will be captured. For M photography, where the legendary strengths of M-Lenses can be harnessed more effortlessly than ever.
Sharpness Precisely Where It Matters Most
With focus assist, the Leica M EV1 offers a seamless entry into the world of M photography. This makes manual focusing a matter of pure precision. Focus peaking highlights the active focus plane with a colored overlay, offering real-time guidance to help you frame your composition. Used separately or additionally, the focus zoom with two levels of magnification ensures precise control. Particularly when using fast Summilux and Noctilux lenses with shallow depths of field and at close range, you can achieve sharp focus with the help of focus assist. For photographs as distinctive as your perspective on the world.
Crystal-Clear OLED Viewfinder
The high-resolution 5.76-megapixel EVF delivers brilliant colors and outstanding clarity, capturing every detail of your subject. All shooting data – shutter speed, aperture, ISO, and exposure compensation – can be shown outside the image, allowing you to maintain full focus on your composition. An individually configurable eye sensor enables smooth transitions between the viewfinder and touch panel, while the diopter adjustment from -4 to +2 fine-tunes the viewfinder image to suit your vision.
See Your Images Before You Take Them
The Live View exposure preview displays every nuance – from brightness to image framing – in real time. Whether you’re working with ultra-wide-angle or super-telephoto lenses or creative photo filters, you maintain complete control over your composition, without ever taking your eye away from the camera. All settings are instantly visible, unlocking new creative possibilities with the Leica M. Using advanced tools like digital zoom, level gauge, and perspective control, you can compose your images with precision, freedom, and intuition.
