The Scottish Isles meets the West Coast
It was along the coast where many discover a love for landscape photography. It’s clear, when returning to the origin of our passion at the edge of any water, photographers seem to be at home, and it’s where many make some of their favorite work. For this workshop in particular, we wanted to take the unparalleled aspects of these images that enchant us and bring them to new lands. For the 2026 Carmel By the Sea Workshop, the Scottish Isles will meet the West Coast.

‘Introduction talk – ‘A journey into landscape photography’ How to inspire your passion for landscape photography.
‘Approach to landscape photography’ Develop an approach from both a technical and psychological point of view.
‘Light, composition and on camera filters’ Learn about the use of light, composition, and filters. In particular, the use of ‘on-camera’ neutral density (ND) grads.
‘Inspiration’ Find inspiration in the works of influential landscape photographers, and delve into a broader discussion of inspiration.
‘Working with technical cameras & creating panoramic landscapes’ Learn how to approach panoramic work, using shift, stitch and panning methods and the many benefits of working with technical cameras.
‘Post production and printing’ Explore processes and techniques in post-production and discuss the importance of printing.
