Fresh out of the Danish computers, Phase One has released in Camera System 4.02.7, a suite of new firmware for all IQ series digital backs as well as the XF and in addition to some bug fixes, adds a legacy IQ2/3 feature for IQ4 users as well as a Feature Update 4 Service Release Package 2 to the XF.

Unfortunately, some glitches have appeared in this firmware that manifest when utilizing post-capture review on the digital back.  In Playback Mode (Image Review) when trying to zoom in on a certain portion of the image, the zoomed area will jump away from view and you’ll see a part of the image you don’t necessarily want to view with scrutiny. This appears to occur only on images captured in vertical orientation.

This singular update package is quite large as it carries the much larger IQ4-150 firmware files and will update all IQ series digital backs as well as the XF.

If you’re running significantly older firmware on your IQ digital back that doesn’t recognize the combined updater or just want the stand-alone XF updater, head over to our Download Archive to get just the version(s) you need for your equipment.

Camera System 4.02.7 Contains:

Firmware 4.05.3 for XF  (1.6mb)

Firmware 8.06.1  for IQ140, IQ160, IQ180, IQ280, IQ260, IQ260-Achromatic (5.6mb)

Firmware 3.06.1  for IQ3 80mp, IQ3 60mp (5.7mb)

Firmware 5.10.1  for IQ3-100mp, IQ1-100mp,  IQ3-50mp, IQ250 & IQ150 (5.8mb)

Firmware 2.00.20  for IQ4-150 (44.6mb)

IQ UPDATE:

On the IQ side of the fence, this update really only affects IQ4-150 users and brings one of my favorite displays back, the Exposure Zone Tool.

Unlike IQ2 & IQ3, the Tools Viewer mode in the playback display does not scroll, and the Exposure Zone Tool now shares space with the Exposure Masks so you’ll need to do a long press on that thumbnail to bring up the masks submenu, in order to switch the display over to Zone.  Once swapped, a tap on the thumbnail will bring the colored zone calculations onto the primary portion of the display.

XF UPDATE:

As for the XF, the list of lenses compatible with AFr (Autofocus & Recompose) as well as automatic Focus Stack calculations has been expanded.

AFr is now supported with:

  • Schneider Kreuznach 35mm f/3.5 Blue Ring
  • Schneider Kreuznach 45mm f/3.5 Blue Ring
  • Schneider Kreuznach 240mm f/4.5 Blue Ring

Automatic Focus Stack calculations on:

  • Schneider Kreuznach 45mm f/3.5 Blue Ring
  • Schneider Kreuznach SK 150mm f/2.8 Blue Ring
  • Schneider Kreuznach SK 150mm f/3.5 Blue Ring

We are continuing to test this latest release, please let us know if you find any fresh bugs or squashed bugs. -BK
